By Julian Hall
As I walked to Fitness First, I was Blessed:
a seagull ferrying a watervole
to roof upon the university.
The world is joy.
Each atom shivers with adoration.
Even my pre-gym journeys are fanfared
by bold displays of interclass friendship:
a mammal held in the mouth of a bird.
Driven into faculty brick, wise words
like generatim discite cultus.
JULIAN HALL is a poet and novelist living in Bath. He has been a member of the Somerville Writer's Collective since 2019 and is a second year student at Kellogg College on the MSt of Creative Writing.
