ABOUT US
The Oxford Review of Books (ORB) is a cultural magazine based at Oxford University. It was founded in Spring 2017, and publishes one issue every Oxford term, three per year. The ORB is now published in association with Stanford University.
The ORB is home to long-form reviews and essays, as well as diary pieces, interviews, poetry, and fiction. It conducts interviews with politicians, actors, philosophers, historians, poets, classicists, and activists. It is created by current undergraduate and postgraduate students at the University of Oxford, and its scope is global.

The latest issue of the ORB can be purchased at Blackwell's Bookshop (Broad Street, Oxford), Daunt Books Summertown, the London Review of Books Bookshop and newsagents across the UK and Ireland. See here for a full list of our current stockists.

PITCHES
Pitches are accepted on a rolling basis for online, and pitches for our print issue open approximately three weeks before Oxford terms start. We are looking for contributions from and beyond Oxford.

We print once per term around sixth week and on a rolling basis online. Review pitches should be timely (released one to two months prior to the review or yet to be published), while an essays must provide a new and fresh take on current affairs.

Please send all prospective prose pitches to orbeditor@gmail.com.

SHORT PIECES - MINI REVIEWS/LETTERS/GLOBAL DISPATCHES

Short pieces are always welcome and we are always looking for 200-250 word mini reviews (of films, books, TV shows think culture in the broadest sense), letters to the editor (200 words), and Global Dispatches (200 words).

Reading through what we've previously published is the best way to get a sense of what we are looking for in a pitch. We are not looking for complete drafts of essays.

POETRY
Poetry submissions are open approximately three weeks before the Oxford term starts. Anyone is welcome to submit within this window. The ORB does not tend to publish poems over 30 lines, and welcomes submissions of 3-4 poems. Please submit as a Word file and include a third-person bio to orbpoetry@gmail.com.

ONLINE SUBMISSIONS

Online submissions are currently open. Please submit full pieces or pitches to theorbdigital@gmail.com. Apart from traditional pitches, video work and multimedia is also accepted and encouraged.
